| Forgive me for neglecting the blog. I have been a little distracted by a certain someone. Anyway.......
Yesterday my family went to Alcatraz - It was a great day and we had a great time. It was funny to see how Dad drove down Lombard Street with our 15 passenger van. The most serpentine street in the world didn't seem to challenge him. grin.

| I haven't written for some time now due to the lack of internet at home for a few days during our remodeling. Let's see...
The Ball was a success! My brother Luke took me out for Chinese before the ball where we had a fine evening with full dance cards and lots of fun. It was delightful to dance the various dances which we had practiced and I felt like I had finally gotten the hang of several of them. Why does it always feel so elegant to go to a ball?
I purchased a Japanese Silk Tree to plant by the Lake of Shining Waters (our mucky pond which I want to make beautiful). I also got a sweet little dwarf pine tree which will be fun to decorate for the holidays.
I have been reading Romans 12 often these days. I love the practical application of this chapter in everyday life. Im reading a devotional in German called "Die Gute Saat". It is pretty good. I'll finish it at the close of this year. A book which I recommend is "My Soul Magnifies the Lord" by Martyn Lloyd-Jones. This book is based on the joy that Mary had when she discovered her role in the Savior's arrival on earth. I'm looking forward to going through this book again before Christmas. Excellent!
| Does anyone know how to train a bonsai? I got a Japanese Boxwood (Latin= Buxus) this week ( a cute little thing!). I'd like to know more about training it.
P.s. Someone laughed at the idea of training a plant. I mean, we train our minds, bodies, children, pets, etc - but plants?
| Last night was dance practice. We are getting ready for the big Autumn Ball which will be held next week. I'm excited about it - although I have to admit that I haven't picked out my formal yet and I still have to review my steps for good measure. I'd like to be better at ragtime steps.
